The purpose of all A.A. group meetings, as the Preamble states, is for A.A. members to "share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism." Toward this end, A.A. groups have both open and closed meetings.
Support group for caregivers, friends, and family members of persons with mental illness; meets monthly in The Dalles the 1st Thursday of every month from 6 to 7:30 pm at One Community Health, 1040 Webber street. Open to all Gorge residents.

The Gorge Wellness Alliance is premiering Cultivate: Compassion, a short film featuring 6 local Gorge people speaking to their experiences with mental health conditions, including drug/alcohol problems. A panel discussion will be held after the showing of the film, where we will discuss how we can work together to cultivate compassion here in the Gorge.
